‘Ducros the passion for taste’ reads the hand carved inscription on this hand made wooden box. Ducros still exists today, selling much the same products as they did when they launched in 1963; provencal exports, herbs and spices sold to food and pharmaceutical industries. Judging by their produce, it’s a reasonable guess that this box was created to store various seasonings and gifted to an enthusiastic (young) chef. If we consider that branded objects were usually produced in bulk, there must be a special story behind this one of a kind box which certainly took some time to carve, and if not love too.
