Glazed ceramic vase in the shape of an alien’s face. The potter seems to have been influenced by the 1977 science fiction film ‘Close Encounters of the Third Kind’ in which kind hearted aliens visit our planet to kidnap Richard Dreyfuss. It is also possible that the inspiration for this vase can be traced back to the first amphetamine labs that arose in Belgium in the early eighties. Shortly after the production of this vase UFO sightings in Belgium soared. Many of the reports described a large object flying at low altitude. Air Force F16s were sent to investigate but found nothing.
