ARCHITECT’S SKETCHBOOK

ITALY EA/IT/0066

Drawing always draws the viewer in, taking the viewer along with every gesture of the hand across the paper. The continuous ping pong of the gaze from the page to what lies in front of it is evident where the lines interrupt, where they reprise, where the hand was lifted to measure exactly how much distance lies between a stone and a staircase, only to return to the paper to translate reality into a silent meditation on its proportions. In this album, an intimate journey through Venice’s architecture.
