Drinking and smoking go hand and hand, so what better to do than combine their paraphernalia. At least that’s what someone in 1960s Holland decided to do. This wine bottle is carefully decorated with cigar bands from various cigar brands. Cigar bands act as a kind of makers mark, signifying quality and origin. Curiously enough they are thought to have been invented by Dutch cigar maker Gustave Bock who emigrated to Cuba. In the 1830s Bock ordered paper rings with his signature to be wrapped on every cigar to be shipped, by 1855 almost all cigar makers were banding their cigars for export.
