CHILDREN’S PLATE FOR OATMEAL PORRIDGE

THE NETHERLANDS EA/NL/0083

Peter Molenaar (tr.: Miller) was indeed a miller, starting his children’s meal brand Molenaar’s Kindermeel in 1888. The brand survived three generations of Millers, continuing to produce meal through the rationing of the Second World War, all the way up to 1975. Molenaar’s Kindermeel is even cited to have fed and raise most Dutch children during the 20s and 30s. This promotional plate, featuring a dog, cat and teddy bear competing for a plate of porridge, comes with a hot water compartment to ensure perfect porridge temperature.
