CHRISTMAS CARD WITH 4 PORTRAITS

The child’s handwriting and lack of punctuation inside this homemade Christmas card present two possible scenarios. Either, ‘I love you Babby’ in which the nameless child, of which there are four different portraits, gifts the pictures to Babby, a shortening of the name Barbara. Or, more likely ‘I love you, Bobby’ in which Bobby the boy gifts himself at four stages of youth to an unknown recipient. Putting the pieces together, we might assume that Bobby created the card and with the help of a parent sent it to a grandparent or other relative accompanied by his changing faces.
