COASTERS WITH FLORAL PRINTS

1970s EA/AU/0025

Coasters decorated with flowers native to Austria, their country of origin. Though captured in black and white photograms, one can recognise the arnica flower, as well as
Arnica, the Adenostyles Alpina, and perhaps the Phyteuma Betonicifolium, also known as Rapunzel. These flowers, that grew high up in the Alps, were often used, among other things, to treat blunt injuries and bruising. With medicinal herbs being no longer seen as a prime form of care, they now at least got a lovely decorative purpose.
