As intriguing it can be to look into your own family tree, it is to see these unfamiliar families in their family tree frames. These Dutch families have probably never met each other in real life, but here they are united in this one thing they share: the frame in which their pictures are hanging. The frames reveal that each picture in a frame is part of a family. It is up to the viewer to find out in which form.
