France’s contribution to aviation is much bigger than most people know. Remember the Wright Brothers, from the United States? Orville and Wilbur Wright invented, built and flew the world’s first motor operated airplane in 1903 and came over to France a few years later because the aviation industry over there was thriving. It is still an important contributor to the French economy today with firms covering all segments of the market, including transport aircraft, business aircraft, helicopters and engines.
