A framed embroidered remembrance fabric with a portrait of Joszef Lengyel dated to 1903, stating “Home will be in danger. In memory of my service.” Most likely Joszef, the man in the photograph, left his Hungarian home unattended to go to war, and his efforts were celebrated with this knitted work.
