Why are trophies so important to us? Why do we feel in such need to receive accolades? Is it out of an expectation to be rewarded for our efforts or is it more to do with our desire to feel approved by our peers? This small mountaineering trophy, in its simplicity and naivety, triggers such thoughts. But if it’s too far fetched, it can just be what it is: a sculptural patchwork of two pine cones, a rope, a rucksack and a picket.
