Kept inside this neat and compact cardboard covered portfolio are many (mostly) handwritten letters by students. By studying the sentence structure we can see that they are actually poems, many of them following an ABAB rhyming scheme and by tracing pencil over ink we can observe the teacher’s corrections. Each sheet is written by a different hand and dated. They begin at 1903 and end with a couple of pages of type-written poems from 1912. The collection seems to be a sentimental one filled with favourite or exceptional poetic examples.
