This hand painted promotional sculpture of a crying child is for ‘Lune’ dewormer and would have been on display in pharmacies as an advertisement for the ‘Lune’ anti-parasite products. ‘Lune’ is the French word for moon, a logical name given that in the first half of the 1900s, parents believed that intestinal worms bred and appeared around the full moon. The medicine was advised each and every full moon to prevent parasites and tears.
