Everytime you use a pencil, there is a little less of the pencil. It’s the very purpose of the pencil, that will eventually become its own end. This tragic idea is captured in this found sculpture, in which used pencils in all their different stages are held together by tape. By becoming a sculpture, these pencils have found a new purpose, and thus can remain forever.
