Roger Chomeaux was an Art Brut artist who lived in the forest of Fontainebleau where he created works of art from wood, stone, glass and plastics. He developed his own phonetic language in which his name was pronounced as ‘Chomo’. He also came up with a new style of music utilising synthesiser and poetry. Later he became an experimental filmmaker with his film ‘Le Débarquement spirituel’, which he co-directed with Clovis Prévost and Jean-Pierre Nadau. Chomo never wanted to sell his art and after his death in 1999, most of his works remained in the forest, watched over by his second wife.
