7 INCH WALLONIAN VINYL

BELGIUM - 1991 EA/BE/0007

Jean Narcy, real name Jean Huet was born in 1932 in Lasne. The youngest of eleven children, his parents ran a café in Saint-Gilles. Perhaps growing up in the bar explains how Jean got a flavour for Belgian folk music. This record specifically pays homage to his Wallonian roots, the region of Belgium where he was born. On the cover we see Jean and Andre—the accordion player—standing under the sign inviting you into ‘Wallonie, the land of the welcome’.
