Walking round Croatian graveyards you might see these photographic enamel plaques affixed to the headstones. Many people would have a portrait of themselves attached so as to immortalise their image. This collection of plaques seems to be a series of tests, trying out different chemical and photo-transfer techniques and possibilities. Nowadays the use of porcelain enamel portraits still exist but the image is digitally printed as opposed to manually transferred.
