Every summer, the train riding from Amsterdam to the nearby Zandvoort beach is crowded like a can of oil sardines. Just jumping into the canals is more of a dare than a valid option to cool off, and for good reason. Every year, over a thousand tons of waste are being fished out of the canals, including around 15.000 bikes and this carefully preserved set of tools. Although the rusty pair of scissors most certainly hasn’t cut a single piece of paper since returning from its marine expedition, the anonymous handyman has decided to keep it in his repertoire.
